The Portcullis Team seminar team were once again in their home from home last week at the Tower of London.

On a beautiful autumnal day, our guests arrived in anticipation of hearing Dr Brian Bandey our legal expert

speak for the first time at one of our events. He chose as his subject the legal implications for employees for the actions of their employees. In an alarming number of perfectly believable scenarios, he explained how the law in practice has come down heavily on not only the companies but also the individuals on the board of directors. The ways in which the corporate beast and it’s senior management are liable for the inappropriate behavior of their staff. After scaring us to death he did allay our fears a little with suggestions about how best practice can often demonstrate to a court how you have taken all reasonable steps to train your staff and make them aware of

what is unacceptable behavior. His style was forthright, honest (unusual for a lawyer) and also very entertaining. All those who came were very pleased they had and it was unanimously agreed that he was well worth turning up to hear.

On this occasion, we did a very rare thing and graciously agreed to share our stage with our premium partner; Marshal. Portcullis have chosen to work with them as a best of breed solution for mail and web filtering and on this rare occasion have decided to allow them to co-host as our partner.

The event was a total success, the group networked well over an excellent lunch before I took them outside for a guided tour of the Tower on a glorious afternoon with blue skies and plenty of warm autumn sunshine.

We finished our journey at a nearby wine bar for a well earned drink and more networking.
